Cuba is a Portuguese village belonging to the district of Beja, Alentejo region and sub-region of Baixo Alentejo, with about 3 200 inhabitants.
It is the seat of the homonymous municipality of Cuba with an area of ​​172.09 km² and 4 878 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 4 parishes (Cuba; Faro do Alentejo; Vila Alva; Vila Ruiva). The municipality is limited to the north by the municipality of Portel, east by Vidigueira, south by Beja, southwest by Ferreira do Alentejo, west by Alvito and northwest by Viana do Alentejo.

The main crop is cereals, such as wheat, barley and oats, occupying 31.7% of the total agricultural area. Permanent meadows and pastures also occupy a significant area. Industrial crops (sunflower, cotton, flax, soybean, aromatic plants, among others) are also relevant in terms of land use, with sunflower being the one with the greatest presence in the municipality. Permanent cultures, such as olive groves and vineyards, still have some representation.

Climate
Cuba has a climate with Mediterranean features, with very hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. According to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification, Cuba's climate is classified as Csa. The average annual temperature is 16.6 °C. The average annual rainfall is 562 mm
